What would happen if someone got your email password?
They could get into a lot more than your email. Most accounts let you reset a password through email. So with your email, someone can reset your bank login, your Amazon account and your Facebook.
Two-factor authentication stops that. After you type your password, you get a code on your phone. Without that code, a stolen password won't get anyone in.
Collin shows you how to turn it on in this video. It takes about a minute.
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, so this is a good week to do it.

Is there a gamer in your house?
Our techs just finished this custom gaming PC, and it came out looking so good we had to share it. It's built in a Lian Li case with a Thermalright cooler and an AMD Radeon graphics card.
Custom builds are something we do. If you're shopping for a gamer, or you are one, and you'd rather not build a PC yourself, send us a message. We can also look over a parts list if you already have one in mind.

Did you make it to the Senior Resource Fair on Saturday?
Steve spent the morning at our table at The Holland Center. It was a full room, with about two dozen local businesses there to help seniors and their families figure out what comes next. Some people came with questions for themselves. Others came for a parent or a spouse.
Steve talked with a lot of people, handed out our computer security reminders, and heard plenty of good stories along the way.
Days like this are a reminder of how much this community looks out for each other. Thank you to The Holland Center, Foothills Caring Corps, Valley of the Sun YMCA and Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center for putting it together.

If a pop-up on your computer says you have a virus and tells you to call a number, it's a scam. Please don't call.
We get asked about this one a lot, so we wanted to share it.
The warning looks official. It's usually red, sometimes it beeps, and it says to call right away. The number goes to a scammer, not Microsoft or Apple.
Once you're on the phone, they'll say your computer is infected and ask to get into it. Then they'll ask you to pay with gift cards, a wire transfer or crypto. People 60 and older lost over $1 billion to this scam last year.
If you see it, close your browser. If it won't close, restart your computer.
If you already called, call your bank. Then bring your computer in and we'll check it.

Our team recently had the opportunity to visit Desert Foothills Library and sit down for lunch with their team to learn more about everything the Library offers our community. And trust us, there is a LOT more happening there than books!
