We are incredibly fortunate for our community. One of the things that makes our community so special is the dedicated leaders who genuinely care about its future.
We want to give a special shout-out to Town of Carefree Mayor John Crane and Town of Cave Creek Vice Mayor (Mayor-Elect) Kathryn Royer for their continued commitment to our schools, local nonprofits, businesses, and the people who call this area home. It was great to see them supporting our educators at the Cave Creek Unified School District's Welcome Back teachers event.
Thank you both for leading with heart, serving our communities, and helping make Cave Creek and Carefree such wonderful places to live, work, and raise a family. We look forward to many more years of working together to strengthen the community we all love.

This morning, Steve and Jen were proud to help welcome teachers back to the Cave Creek Unified School District. As Chair of the Kiwanis Club of Carefree, Scholarship Committee, Steve joined fellow Kiwanians in presenting every CCUSD teacher with a $200 Walmart gift card through the Every Teacher, Every Student program to help offset classroom expenses many teachers pay out of their own pockets.
Jen, a Board Member of the Cave Creek Unified Education Foundation, helped kick off the new school year with fun raffles while sharing information about the Foundation's Grant the District program, where teachers can apply for grants of up to $2,500 to bring innovative ideas and valuable resources into their classrooms.
We're grateful to be part of a community that believes in supporting our educators. To every teacher beginning a new school year, thank you for investing in the next generation. We wish you a fantastic year ahead!

Today, Jen had the opportunity to share her career journey with local teens and remind them that career paths are rarely a straight line. You don't always end up where you thought you would when you were a teenager, and that's okay! Fun fact: Jen originally planned to become a dental hygienist.
A big thank you to the amazing women of Soroptimist International Happy Valley of the Sun and their partnership with ECS - Education and Community Services Cave Creek for inviting her to speak at Dream It, Be It, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Carefree. It takes a village to help young people dream big and discover what's possible.

Today, the Tech 4 Life team traded our keyboards for a Community Partner field trip and spent some time at the Foothills Food Bank! We enjoyed lunch, met their incredible staff, and learned more about the many ways they serve our neighbors and strengthen our community.
Did you know the Foothills Food Bank provides support across more than 1,500 square miles, helping individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout our region? We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from our partners who make such a meaningful difference every day.
